BILL OF MATERIAL

The ABBASOFT Technologies Bill of Material module defines the individual components of a manufactured product and is an integral part of the ABBASOFT Manufacturing system.  Alternate BOM's can be defined as well.  Complete item descriptions, structural relationships, and input to Manufacturing and Project Management (Work Order) modules are supported.  This module can be used by itself or integrated with any of the following modules: Estimating, Manufacturing (Job Cost), Order Entry, Production Control, Quote Tracking, or Router Control.

KEY BENEFITS

§         Maintenance of complete and accurate Bills of Material for all manufactured products provides ease in routing process.

§         Maintenance of drawings and ECO's provide a comprehensive history of changes to manufactured and purchased parts.

§         Inquiries for requirements, fulfillment's, and availability or all manufactured and purchased parts allow accurate scheduling for orders, shipments, manufacturing, and purchasing.

Detailed part specifications that include part types, scrap percentage, lot or serial tracking, obsolete, bin, receiving inspection, and product categories provide extensive online information at a glance.

Create Bills of Material with:

      Raw Product Number

      Raw Product Description

      Quantity per Finished Product

      Unit of Measure

      Effective Dates:

- Replace by

- To be replaced by

• Raw Product Cost

• Cost Extension (Raw Product)

A special "Where Used' Inquiry function allows entry of a raw product number and shows finished good part numbers for parts that use the raw product.

Specification master files maintain information on drawings associated with a master product and include:

§          Revision level

§          Engineering Change Order

§          Last ECO Date

§          Drawing Author

Kit Quantity Inquiry displays availability of raw products used to assemble finished goods.  The number of finished goods required is entered and the system displays the number of raw products needed to complete the order.  Current inventory levels for each raw product and the total number of kits that can be assembled with the current level is displayed automatically.

A BOM Update option automatically updates raw product effective date for all BOM's.  User-selectable cut-off dates control the update process.

Additional Features

§         Global Update:

- By Part Substitution

- Effective Date

- Scrap Factor

Duplicate BOM

Look-up or search part in BOM

Check inventory availability

§         Phantom Assemblies

§         Cost "Roll-Up" to Final Assemblies

§         An assembly may have sub-assemblies nested down to 999 levels

§         Item/Drawing Cross Reference

§         Link to Feature & Options Module

§         Report Bills of Material with:

- Single and Multi-Level Breakdown

- Parent Listings by Component

- Product Costs

§         Allows scrap % to be entered to calculate quality required

§         Define Alternate BOM's

§         Component Availability Updates

§         A mass replace and delete capability is supported and global component changes can be made
