2008 UPS RATE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

The following procedure will guide you though on how to load the 2008 UPS Rates that are effective January 2, 2008. Depending on the speed of your system this process should take about 5-10 minutes to complete.

Please note that in 2002 UPS moved up the effective date of the yearly rate changes from Febuary to January to more coincide with the beginning of the calendar year.
  1. Download the update from the Web Site
  2. You will be prompted for a location to save the file to.
    (Generally you would want this to be a place easily found I.E. C:\Download)
  3. Through Windows, go to the folder you saved the file and double-click on the file to uncompress them.
  4. Select to Unzip to uncompress the files to a directory
    When prompted for the password enter the password supplied
    The default is C:\windows\Temp, however you can change that to another directory.
  5. From the DM Account create a Tape Device from TCL
    (NT)
    DEV-MAKE -T Tape -A "X:\path\ups2008.d3,P"
    Where X is the Drive Letter on NT the files are located
    Where path is the directory path(I.E. download)
    (UNIX)
    Go to a Command Prompt on the Window's Machine
    Change to the Directory you extracted the files to I.E. (C:\windows\temp)
    Type: ftp unix ip.address (where unix.ip.address is the ip address of the unix server
    Enter in your unix logon name (ie root)
    Enter in your unix password
    Type: cd unix.directory (I.E cd tmp)
    Type: bi
    Type: put ups2008.d3
    Type: bye Make the Device for the new pseudotape
    At TCL: Type chg-device 1 name=/tmp/ups2008.d3 type=floppy density=pseudo
  6. Log onto the account you want to load the update to.
  7. Go to a TCL Prompt on D3 in the account you want to update
  8. Attach the file ups2008.D3 using the following command
    SET-DEVICE ##
    Where ## is the device # that was assigned in the previous step
  9. Type in T-REW <cr>
  10. Type in T-LOAD MD (O <cr>
  11. After it returns to TCL type in LOAD.UPS <cr>
  12. You will be prompted if you want to continue. If you do then enter Y***<cr> otherwise enter N
  13. When prompted enter in the warehouse number to update.
  14. The system will notify you when it is complete. At that point you can then enter in another warehouse to update or EJ to exit.

  16. For new insurance logic, must update table ship-table (oe#4) and ship confirmation (bp oe822). It is recommended you are on the latest version (23.1.0) to update oe822. Contact tech support to get these files.
