Overview
This procedure describes how to access PICK through the Remote Access Server Connection. The modem is a 56K modem (using V.90 or K56 protocol).
Note to Project Managers
Currently you can only access PICK, Calendar Scheduling using Outlook will be done shortly. The line is currently being shared with our fax server so it will not be available during business hours.
Procedure
Setting up your PC
Installing Dial-Up Networking
If you have Dial-Up Networking installed Continue to the next section
- Go to the Start Menuà Settingsà Control Panel
- Click on Add/Remove Programs
- Click on the Windows Setup Tab
- Double Click on Communications
- Make sure that Dial-Up Networking is checked
- Click OK to go back to the main Windows Setup
- Click on OK again it should ask for the Windows 95 CD to install Networking
Setting up Dial-Up Networking
- From the Desktop Double-Click the My Computer Icon
- Double-Click on Dial-Up Networking
- When you Double Click on the Make New Connection you will get the Make New Connection Wizard.
- Use the Following Settings
Name for Connection : Enter in the name you want to give it
Select a Modem : Select the Modem you want to use
Click Next
Phone Number to call : Enter in the Appropriate Number
Click Next
Click Finish
Dialing into the Network
Connecting to Modem using Dial-Up Networking
Temporary Modem Phone Number: 714-830-9920
User Name: Same as your mail user (ie: abba@abbasoft.com, user name is abba)
Password: Same as your dial back password on old modem.
Using Dial-Up Networking
(This is the same way you would dial into your normal ISP)
- From the Desktop go to the My Computer Icon
- Double Click on the New Connection you made.
- Then enter in your user name and password
- The system will pick up and then Dial-Back at the preset number.
- Once the system has dialed you back and you are connected to the network
Once you are Connected
Accessing PICK
Using Telnet
- From the Start Menu select Startà Run
- Enter in telnet 209.80.42.2 2102
- Click Run
Using Wintegrate
- Open wIntegrate
- Go to Setupà Communications
- Double Click on Windows Sockets(If you do not have Windows Sockets, you will need to quit wIntegrate and run the Configuration program to install sockets)
- For Host Name enter : 209.80.42.2
Telnet Port : 2102
- Click OK on that screen to take you back to the main communications screen
- Make sure Port Open is checked and then click OK
